Following the formal protest letter signed by 10 prominent ND cadres describing how the ruling party has "lost its soul," Manolis Angelakas, a former MEP, former ND Organizational Secretary, and businessman, paints an even darker picture of the internal party tension currently consuming the conservative faction. Speaking candidly on the show MAGGA on BNtv—the online broadcasting arm of BankingNews.gr—he reveals that a vast number of members have reached their absolute breaking point with Kyriakos Mitsotakis, far beyond just the 10 signatories: "There are many more of us! ND has become a blue-green hybrid of PASOK and Potami. Under Mitsotakis' leadership, ND is systematically moving away from the core founding values established by Konstantinos Karamanlis," he emphasizes while responding to journalist Angie Stathatou.
The infiltration of PASOK and shocking data on ND's internal decline: Out of 3,200 delegates, barely 1,500 voted!
The former MEP outlines what he describes as the tactical infiltration of PASOK into the ruling political establishment: "We currently have 19 former 'green' party cadres serving in the government cabinet. Back when I was a university student and an active member of DAP, my political adversaries were Takis Theodorikakos—who belonged to Panspoudastiki—Michalis Chrysochoidis, and Giorgos Floridis!" Mr. Angelakas exposes the staggering extent of New Democracy's internal decay: "At the recent party National Congress, out of 3,200 eligible delegates, barely 1,500 actually voted!" As for the broader developments unfolding across the domestic political arena? Manolis Angelakas maintains that "Tsipras is undeniably talented but proved catastrophic for the country, while Maria Karystianou is actively revitalizing the political scene and introducing a deeply compelling dynamic to it."
Mitsotakis captive to the woke agenda – Karamanlis and Samaras are not professional alarmists, they simply love Greece
The systemic integration of the woke agenda has absolutely no alignment with the traditional principles and conservative values of New Democracy, Manolis Angelakas points out: "Mitsotakis made specific ideological commitments, and this new legislation is a total monstrosity," he says. He simultaneously addresses the mounting geopolitical threat posed by Turkey: "What else needs to happen for us to finally wake up? Do the Turks have to occupy an entire island first? The recent maritime bill pushed forward by Erdogan effectively traps 80 sovereign Greek islands!" He further argues that the two former Prime Ministers, Antonis Samaras and Kostas Karamanlis, who have openly criticized current foreign policy execution, "are not professional alarmists, nor are they driven by personal political ambitions; they simply love their homeland. If Antonis Samaras forms a new political party, I will support him, because Mitsotakis' ND is not my New Democracy, it is something completely mutated!"
They are not foolish, there is deep state collusion and kickbacks!
"We are falsely labeling the fire sale of domestic Greek enterprises as foreign investments," remarks Manolis Angelakas, who levels harsh criticism against the Prime Minister for relying on "welfare handouts and crumbs, which do not constitute real economic growth but are merely financial tip money." While the rest of Europe aggressively ramps up defense spending and local military manufacturing, Greece remains obstinately fixated on importing foreign weapon systems and does not manufacture so much as a replacement bolt to support its own domestic defense industry:
"Deep state collusion is the primary anchor holding back national growth, because I simply cannot bring myself to believe that we are being governed by fools," the former ND Organizational Secretary notes meaningfully. A similar dynamic underpins the corruption being unearthed in the OPEKEPE agricultural subsidy scandal: "When livestock numbers are artificially multiplied through the direct intervention of the veterinary services, it is absolutely certain that illicit financial kickbacks were involved, meaning there is zero future for our primary production sector," he notes.
European leaders are completely unable to stand toe-to-toe with Putin
Finally, analyzing global geopolitical developments, the former MEP observes that "Russia is emerging as the clear winner and Europe stands as the great loser," while emphasizing that current EU leaders lack the necessary stature when measured against the Russian President: "There is an acute dearth of real leadership across Europe; those holding power today are simply unable to stand toe-to-toe with Putin," he remarks. Naturally, the inexorable march of time will eventually force the EU and Moscow back to the same negotiating table. Watch the full broadcast episode of the show MAGGA:
